The Prescott Badgers will play in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs after a 5-1 win over the Pueblo Warriors.

The Badgers came out and scored four in the bottom of the first for a lead that would hold up.

Sofia Lambas put the ball in play to get Camila Duarte home in the third inning for the only run of the game for the Warriors.

Prescott added one more run in the fifth when Cameron Scrivener singled to right scoring Mariah Smolnikar.

RJ Parra had a dominance performance in the circle for the final time at Prescott High School. The senior pitched a no hitter with 13 strikeouts. Parra said, “This was big for us. We wanted to keep our season going and we have worked very hard to get better as a team. I was happy with how I competed today. Being able to win your final home game is something special. Now we have another opportunity to play Saturday and hopefully we will play well and keep moving on.”

Belen Comacho took the loss but allowed only one earned run and struck out eight.

The Badgers improve to (18-10) and face a very talented and tough opponent in  Salpointe Catholic in Tucson on Saturday at 11am.
