The Prescott Badgers extended their win streak to nine is a row with a 59-51 win over rival Bradshaw Mountain in Prescott Valley. The win improves Prescott to (8-0) in the Grand Canyon Region and (18-3) overall. Bradshaw Mountain slips to (6-3) and (15-6).
Mason Hunt led the Bears with 27 points and four rebounds. Uriah Tenette scored 24 for the Badgers, but it was Cooper Magnett with 13 points, and Andrew Lyon coming off the bench with eight points to ignite the Badgers in the third quarter that made the difference for Prescott.

The teams came out firing away which led to a 17-17 tie after the first quarter. The second quarter saw each team taking the lead as fouls started to play a part in the coaches personnel decisions on the court. Tenette knocked down a three for a 24-17 Badger lead. Zane Gaul picked up his third foul and sat for the remainder of the half. Hunt and Preston Ranniker brought the Bears back to tie the game at 24. Magnett’s rebound and put back basket gave Prescott a 26-24 lead at the half.
The Badgers’ big lift came with three straight three point shots, overcoming a 36-32 deficit when Cooper Magnett connected, and senior Andrew Lyon drilled the next two three point shots to give the Badgers a 41-36 lead. Lyon said, “This was my last game here and I wanted our team to go out with a win. I was open and got a couple of good passes that set me up for the shots.”
Bradshaw could never catch Prescott, closing the deficit to 42-39, 46-43, and 48-45. The Bears struggled to score with some turnovers, and the Badgers went to the line and made free throws to grow the lead to finish the game.
Magnett said, “This is a tough place to play, and a big win for us. I was able to get some open looks and the shots fell for me.”
Prescott coach Travis Stedman said, “We got a great game out of Cooper and Andrew tonight. Losing Zane was something that we are comfortable with, but we are a little different team without him out there. It was just great to see some other guys step up and come through for us. Uriah did another great job out there, especially with all the attention he draws. This was a good team win.”
Other than Hunt with 27 points, no other Bradshaw Mountain player scored in double figures. Jayden Blasczyk scored four points and had eight rebounds. The Bears were plagued by 18 turnovers.
