The Prescott Lady Badgers continue to improve and took a big step in moving up in the Grand Canyon Region standings with a 62-54 home win over the Coconino Panthers. It was their first win in five years against the Panthers.
The sophomore duo of Addie Prisciandaro and Bella Abt proved too much for Coconino to overcome. Prisciandaro led all scorers with 25 points and Abt added 18 points.
Prescott led the entire ball game, opening up a 17-13 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Badgers pushed the lead to seven, leading 31-24 at the half.
Coconino put together a strong third quarter, to trim the Prescott lead to 48-47, but the Lady Badgers, who hit 10-12 from the charity stripe grew the lead down the stretch to win by eight.
Prescott improves to (2-1) in the Grand Canyon Region. The girls are back in action in the Badger Dome tonight as they host Coronado at 5:30pm.

Varsity Boys Basketball
The Prescott Badgers remained undefeated in region play with a 67-49 win at Coconino. The win sets up a battle for first place versus rival Bradshaw Mountain, Monday night in the Badger Dome.
Zane Gaul and Uriah Tenette combined for 42 points, scoring 21 each. Danian Bernardo added eight points.
