Sudden Cardiac Death remains a leading cause of adult mortality in the United States, but there is hope in improving survival rates through early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use. To make a difference in its local community, the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) proudly presents its Community AED Placement (CAP) Program for non-profit organizations.

The CAFMA CAP Program is designed to address the urgent need for AEDs in the community, provide essential training in CPR and AED usage, and promote public awareness of those in the community that are committed to saving lives.

Local non-profit organizations, schools, and businesses have the opportunity to purchase an AED through CAFMA at the Fire Authority’s discounted rate. CAFMA will then, at no charge to the entity, certify up to 25 personnel/volunteers in Heartsaver CPR, First Aid, and AED.

Doug Niemynski, CAFMA EMS Chief, emphasized the program’s importance by stating:

“Our Community AED Placement Program empowers organizations, schools, and businesses to become genuine lifesavers. CAFMA is committed to increasing the number of accessible AEDs, spreading CPR and AED awareness, and ensuring the health and wellbeing of all community members.”

For more information on how non-profit organizations within CAFMA’s jurisdiction can join this lifesaving initiative or to inquire about the CAFMA Community AED Placement Program, please contact the CAFMA Administration office at 928-772-7711.
