Confession of a MAGA Conservative – Buz Blog

There are a lot of people, many having a history of conservative voting and views, who claim that they are either reluctant or never will vote for Donald Trump. Many of these people don’t like what Trump says or puts out on social media. Anyone who votes on the basis of what any politician states, rather than what he or she does, is deceiving themselves.

What President Trump did during his four years in office borders on the miraculous. Inflation was at its lowest in decades, until COVID 19 hit our shores, unemployment was at it lowest, real income for Americans was going up, North Korea and China were much less aggressive militarily. Iran was emasculated financially and politically, through sanctions and Trump’s diplomatic policies with other Arab nations.

Under his stint as Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces, ISIS was eliminated as a threat and terrorist leaders and promoters were eliminated. Peace was beginning to blossom in the Middle East and other areas. Our borders were becoming more secure. America was again gaining the respect of the world and our enemies once again had good reason to fear us.

President Trump did all of this against a tide of hostile reporting from an antagonistic leftist press and a crazed Democrat party that baselessly impeached him twice. He was also burdened with a vast federal bureaucracy that was attempting to thwart his policies at every turn. These are all reasons to vote for Donald Trump in 2024. Since Joe Biden reversed almost all of Trump’s policies, all of the good things that were accomplished for the American people have been reversed. There is no way Trump cannot be elected president next year if voters honestly respond to the question, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”

But what first attracted me and many others to candidate Trump in the lead into the 2016 election was the fact that he was not a politician, but a businessman. The fact that he was a billionaire who made his money building things in the private sector was a plus to many of us in the middle class. When compared to most of the politicos in Washington who have become rich on government salaries that we pay for through our taxes, Trump was a breathe of fresh air.

I didn’t start out in the primaries, even thinking about voting for Donald Trump. My main issue was finding a candidate who would follow the Constitution, not a politician who would try to find ways to circumvent it. I liked Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Dr. Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee. I agreed with a lot of what Trump had to say, but I listened too much to what the pundits and political commentators had to say about him not having a chance. Once he won the nomination, Trump had my complete support. My wife and I and several friends went to the Trump rally in Prescott Valley. While I was there, I saw three other people who had worked with me at the Long Beach Police Department.

At that rally and every other Trump rally I’ve seen since then, Donald Trump has mentioned how much he respects law enforcement, thanks them for the work they do and makes clear their necessity to the safety and well being of Americans. Having been a cop for 29 years, coming from a family of officers in California from Los Angeles , Hawthorne and Long Beach, I can’t tell you how refreshing that was to hear from any politician, let alone a presidential candidate. That, by itself, has engendered undying loyalty from the vast majority of those who wore the badge or worked in law enforcement.

Since Joe Biden took office, opened our borders, given Iran billions to greatly enhance their terrorist war on Israel, the United States and their other Arab enemies, we are at a much greater risk both internally and worldwide. Thanks to Uncle Joe’s fiscal policies, inflation is rampant and we’re at risk of hyperinflation. When he took office, we had energy independence. Now fuel prices are double what they were. Plus, Joe has depleted our strategic reserves in a vain attempt to lower these high prices

Internally, Biden has turned federal law enforcement against families, religion, free speech and local law enforcement. In cities and states that Democrats control, crime and homelessness is uncontrolled. Now his party is using every novel legal trick to prosecute Biden’s opponent in the next election, Donald Trump. This is an unprecedented persecution in our country, but an ordinary occurrence in third world dictatorships.

Our military is run by a bunch of wimps who advance woke agendas like transgenderism, drag queens and racial division. One study shows that nearly 70% of those in the military are overweight. Military recruitment can’t even fill the minimum requirements. Who would want to join a military filled with obese soldiers, sailors and airmen, that is led by a fat Secretary of Defense who wants to eliminate such alleged wrongs as transphobia, homophobia, misogyny and alleged rampant white racism in the ranks? At a time when the world is about to explode, why isn’t our military emphasizing preparedness, stockpiling weapons and ammo, and getting our troops back in shape.

Earlier this month, Muslim terrorists from Hamas in Gaza, entered Israel and committed unmatched atrocities on unarmed Israeli citizens, killing, raping and mutilating civilians, including children. Biden’s response has been disjointed, contradictory and confused. He will say something that later has to be walked back by his staff and other officials.

Does anyone with half a brain think that the Hamas attack would have even been thought about, if Trump were president? Would inflation or gas prices be as high? Would China be threatening to take over Taiwan? Would our military be so unprepared? Would our citizens fear our federal law enforcement? Would our bureaucracies be running amuck?

I can unequivocally answer “No” to all of those questions and that is why I am an unapologetic MAGA conservative.
