You have only two days remaining to come out and enjoy a variety of new films at the 13th annual Prescott Film Festival at Yavapai College. There are two places on campus to view the films. The Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center, and the Community Room in Building 19.
If you have not been yet, you have missed out on some very good films, but there is still time. Here are a few to take note of.
The first film of the day titled “Join or Die” is a documentary that looks into our nation and society with research on how the decline in community may be based on how many of us get out and volunteer.
At 4 pm, you will surely recognize some big names behind “The Mustangs: Americas Wild Horses”. Co-produced by Robert Redford and featuring music by Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris, and Willie Nelson. The film looks to making people understand why the protection of our wild horses and our public lands are worth fighting for.
“Past Lives” will be shown after the 14 minute narrative short “Instant Noodle” at 7pm in the J&LL Performing Arts Center. The movie features Nora and Hae Sung, two childhood friends who find each other twenty years later and are reunited for one fateful week.
There will be an awards party after this performance.
Sunday will wrap things up with a silent classic featuring Harold Lloyd, titled “Safety Last!”. The film has been remastered. To top that, the Alto Motion Picture Orchestra will be playing during the film to make the trip back a 100 years ago complete. Starts at 4 pm in the J&LL Performing Arts Center.
Be sure to look below at all the film options and times available.
Tickets may be purchased in person or by phone 928-776-2000 or 877-928-4253, or online at YCPAC.com. Additional information at prescottfilmfestival.com
