Lincoln Returns To Capture Title at the Prescott Resort Horseshoe Tournament

The Prescott Resort Horseshoe Tournament was held on a comfortable Sunday morning at the Watson Lake courts in Prescott. Partly cloudy skies kept temperatures in the mid to upper 70s as the pitchers battled out with some very entertaining games between them.

Prescott’s Trisha Lincoln returned to action after being sidelined for a couple plus months, with a six game sweep to win the overall tournament championship. Mike Massari of Mesa had two of the best games of the day, pitching at a 75% ringer percentage, but ultimately settled for second, after losing twice to Lincoln. Hal Handelman of Chino Valley took third after suffering two one point losses to Lincoln.

Steve Harman of Surprise also swept the class B division with a perfect 4-0 record. Harman just got past Robert Chubinsky with a one point win to not only stay perfect, but knocking Chubinsky into third place. Second place went to Joe Starika of Prescott Valley.

The Mile Hi Horseshoe Club will host their final event of the 2023 season on Saturday, September 23, sponsored by Papa John’s Pizza. Anyone interested in becoming a horseshoe pitcher or learn more about the sport may email pitchupnorthaz.td@gmail.com
