Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation (YC4KF) is thrilled to announce the 8th annual Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run and Halloween Festival, happening on Saturday, October 28th 2023 which benefits nearly 300 local foster youth. The Foundation seeks support from the community in the forms of sponsorships and in-kind donations to make help make this event successful.
“This 5K draws in over 300 participants and is not just a race, it’s a huge Halloween party!” commented Mona Stephens, Development Director with Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation.
The Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run and Halloween Festival features a live DJ from Magic 99.1, vendors with carnival-like games and prizes, an appearance from Arizona Batman, a raffle, a 5K, metals for the top 3 best finish times, and a 1 mile fun run. The event also includes a costume contest with prizes for best girl, boy, adult male, adult female, and group costume categories. The event is free for all foster/kinship families to attend and youth 16 years old and younger. The best part is that this event isn’t just about fun, its about helping this area’s most vulnerable youth, who really need the support.
For businesses interested in sponsoring, sponsorships start as low as $30 with the top sponsorship level being $2,500. Different perks are associated with different sponsorship levels but include the sponsor’s logo on the YC4KF website for 1 year, social media spotlights, print and radio mentions, logo on the race-day shirts and more. The Foundation is also seeking in-kind donations for the event such as race-day pizza, coffee, prize baskets, raffle items, ad space, and race-day bags. Community members are also encouraged to share the event with as many families and friends as possible.
“It takes a community to support these children through their most difficult times, and we are looking for community members to help be that much needed community for these foster children.” Yvonne Bartlett, Executive Director of Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation, stated.
