The Republican Men’s Forum of Yavapai County has announced that Arizona GOP Chair, Jeff DeWitt, will speak at their monthly luncheon meeting, next Monday, August 14, 2023. The meeting is held at the Prescott Vibes Event Center, 6200 N. Highway 89.
Doors open at 11:00AM for lunch, with the meeting called to order at 11:30AM. The Republican Men’s Forum is a membership organization. However, reservations from non members are welcomed on a space available basis. Reservations can be made HERE.
Jeff DeWitt is a nationally known figure in Republican politics. In January 2023, at the Arizona GOP’s annual meeting, he was elected State Chairman. After a period of contention within the party following the 2020 election, he emerged as the consensus candidate, receiving 71% of the votes cast by State Committeemen from across the state. He succeeded Dr. Keli Ward, who did not seek reelection.
From 2015 to 2018, Mr. DeWitt served as Arizona’s State Treasurer before leaving to serve as a top campaign advisor to then presidential candidate Donald Trump. Mr. DeWitt chaired the Arizona Trump Campaign in 2016. Following President Trump’s election, Mr. DeWitt was appointed Chief Financial Officer for NASA. In the 2020 election, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Trump campaign.
Mr. DeWitt is expected to address the upcoming 2024 election season and issues currently facing the Republican party. Just last week, the Arizona Secretary of State announced that Independent voters now outnumber registered Republicans for the first time since 2014. Although Yavapai County registrations continue to reflect a Republican majority with 81,917 voters as of July 1, 2023, the combined registrations of Independents at 52,035 and Democrats at 31,789, outnumber registered Republicans by 1,907. With Democrats now occupying most of Arizona’s top offices, the growth of registered Independents and unaffiliated voters present a growing challenge in statewide elections. Mr. DeWitt will offer his analysis of the current political environment and the path forward for the Arizona Republican party. Time permitting, he will stand for questions.
Also on the agenda is Michelle Burchill, the Yavapai County Recorder. She was appointed to serve as the Yavapai County Recorder by the Board of Supervisors on July 25th, 2022. Ms Burchill is an Arizona Certified Elections Officer, a member of the Association of County Recorders, and is the Chair of the Arizona Voter Information Database Steering Committee. Ms. Burchill will be speaking on election integrity and voter registration.
The cost for lunch is $30 per person – cash, check or credit card paid at the door. Reservations are accepted until Wednesday, August 9th, at 10 pm, You can make a reservation HERE.
