Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Extinguishes Triplex Fire

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023, a call came in for a reported structure fire with flames showing in the back of a triplex apartment building in the 7600 block of Spouse Drive in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

The first-arriving Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) crew found fire on the backside of the building that had just extended into the living area of one of the apartments. Firefighters achieved a quick knock down, aided by the apartment’s residential fire sprinkler system which limited fire damage to the inside of the apartment.

The occupant of the damaged apartment was displaced and is receiving lodging assistance from the Arizona Crisis Team (ACT) and the Red Cross; there were no reported injuries. The fire is under investigation but appears to have started on the exterior of the building.

An immediate call to 9-1-1, fast fire response, and the apartment’s residential fire sprinkler system limited damage to the property and protected the two other apartments within the triplex.

CAFMA would like to thank their engine and truck company crews, Battalion 3, their Fire Investigator, Priority Ambulance, Prescott Valley Police Department, Town of Prescott Valley Building Department, APS, UniSource, ACT, and the Red Cross.
