UPDATE to Armed Robbery of Taxi Driver in January of 2023 – Prescott Police Department

On May 6th, 2023, at approximately 2:41 P.M. Prescott Police officers apprehended two suspects in connection with the Armed Robbery of the Taxi driver that occurred on January 29th, 2023.

The two suspects, identified as 50-year-old Christopher Caudle and 47-year-old Kristie Chilton, were booked into Yavapai County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, Theft of Means of Transportation, and Disorderly Conduct. Additionally, Caudle was charged with Resisting Arrest, after attempting to run from officers during the contact. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia as well.

Prescott Police Investigators worked tirelessly over the last three months, not only gathering evidence, but working to locate the whereabouts of the suspects as they are transient. Patrol Officers did an outstanding job of following up and locating the suspects which led to the successful apprehension.

On January 29, 2023 at approximately 10:25 A.M. Prescott Police Officers responded to the report of an armed robbery of a Taxi driver.

Through the course of the investigation, it was reported that the suspects entered the Taxi in the 100 block of N. Arizona Street. The male suspect pointed a handgun at the female Taxi driver who was instructed to drive while still at gunpoint. The victim was directed to pull into a parking lot in the 500 block of 6th Street where she was ordered out of her vehicle. The suspects then drove away in the vehicle along with the victims’ personal belongings.

The stolen vehicle was later located abandoned in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, located in the 300 block of N. Montezuma Street.
