The Mile Hi Horseshoe Club held their first tournament of 2023, the Cal Cordes Singles. Despite a cool start to the morning, things heated up on the courts. Joe Starika of Prescott Valley was perfect in the Class B division, going 6-0 on the day.
Starika, who shot 2.75 over his average, had a couple of close calls, but managed to pull out the two closest games of the day. A one point win over Mike Brewer, and a two point win over Cody Williams. Starika said, “I don’t recall ever going 6-0. Feels pretty good.”
Williams of Prescott went 3-3, earning him second place, and Russell Durham of Buckeye, pulled out third.
