The most efficient way a government can control its citizens, is to take away their freedoms. An historical example is how the US government in the late 1800s was able to get the American Plains Indians to give up their longstanding, nomadic, hunting traditions and live in relative poverty while confined to reservations.
One of the most effective ways they did this was with a concerted effort to eliminate the buffalo, (American bison). Almost all of the tribes in the central plains hunted the buffalo. They used the buffalo for food, clothing, shelter, tools and other purposes. The government, the military and the railroads encouraged the slaughter of the buffalo. Without the main source for maintaining their existence, the Indians had little choice but to surrender their freedom, migrate to government reservations, and depend upon the largess of the government for their food, clothing and shelter.
Today, the woke climate Nazis in the Biden regime, are trying to do the same thing to our American middle class. By canceling oil pipelines, by denying new drilling permits, by over regulating permits for new refineries, and monetarily subsidizing expensive, so-called renewable energy, our government is making our access to the cheapest, most efficient energy, so expensive that it will restrict our freedom. Petroleum products are utilized in almost everything we need and use, so everything we buy will be more expensive.
With much higher energy costs, our freedom to set the thermostats in our homes to our comfort preferences, will be limited. The woke climate warriors would like nothing better than to give government bureaucrats the power to set everyone’s house temperature to a setting they decide. They would also like to control the temperature and length of showers and baths.
One of our most basic freedoms is the freedom to travel. With the government bureaucracies targeting oil and natural gas in such a way to make it prohibitively expensive, the cost of moving from one place to another by plane, train or automobile, will rise to the point of limiting our freedom to travel. These policies are undoubtedly an attempt to push us non-elites to government mass transit. This constricts our freedom to go where we want, when we want.
The latest attack on our freedoms comes, not surprisingly, from the Biden EPA. The proposed regulations would make it mandatory for almost all cars to be electric by 2032. This is ridiculous when one considers that electric cars are much more expensive to manufacture and we don’t have the infrastructure, and won’t have by 2032, to keep all of the electric vehicles charged. These planned rules would force many in the middle and lower middle class to mass transit, which is what the elitist, woke, climate scaremongers want.
The effect of restricting our access to cheap, efficient energy and forcing the multitude toward mass transit is today’s government way or forcing us to, and keeping us “on the reservation.”
