Yavapai College Announces Spring and Summer Open Houses for Prospective Students

Open Houses to be held at the Verde Valley Campus, Prescott Campus, & Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC)

Yavapai College will hold open houses for prospective students at three locations this spring and summer.

The open houses are free and open to the public and prospective students of all ages, including currently enrolled and recently graduated high school students, parents, working adults looking to reskill, upskill or change careers, or anyone interested in taking a class at YC.

The open houses will be held:

  • Verde Valley Campus – Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    601 W. Black Hills Drive, Clarkdale, AZ 86324
  • Career & Technical Education Center – Saturday, June 3, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    220 Ruger Road., Ste 1, Prescott, AZ 86301
  • Prescott Campus – Saturday, June 10, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    1100 E. Sheldon Street, Prescott, AZ 86301

Each open house will feature one-on-one support from YC’s team of experts who can assist students in applying and registering and provide information for financial aid, scholarships, academic programs, and all other student resources.

Additionally, each open house attendee will receive a tour of the campus or center.

About the Verde Valley Campus

The Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale is a beautiful, state-of-the-art campus that offers over a dozen degree programs, some 20 certificate programs, and a selection of courses ranging from accounting to viticulture.

The campus features well-equipped classrooms, computer labs, a modern library, a student union, an art gallery and arts center, a learning center, a fitness center, a veterans’ program, the iconic Mabery Pavilion, and other community gathering places, up-to-date education technology, a robust data center, state-of-the-art labs, and complementary landscaping.

The Verde Valley Campus is home to a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq. ft. Skilled Trades Center. This facility trains students in career and technical education programs, including Residential Trades/Construction, Residential Electrical, Residential HVAC, and Residential Plumbing.

It is also home to the Southwest Winecenter, a premier wine industry and community resource. It offers a comprehensive hands-on education from vineyard to bottle with enology, viticulture, and business/entrepreneurship programs through its estate vineyard, teaching winery, and fully operational tasting room.

About the Prescott Campus

The Prescott Campus is home to dozens of degree and certificate programs in multiple areas of study, including behavioral and human services, business, entrepreneurialism and management, computer and information technology, culture and society, education, health sciences, STEM, and visual and performing arts.

The Prescott Campus is also home to Roughrider athletic teams, an art gallery and sculpture garden, a computer commons, a state-of-the-art library, and residence halls.

About the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC)

The Career and Technical Education Center houses many of Yavapai College’s trade and technical programs. The state-of-the-art facility accommodates programs and equipment that require a large square footage footprint to house specific equipment. The center provides students with a hands-on learning environment for many technical, trades, and applied technology programs.

Registration for the fall semester opens on April 17, and classes begin on August 12.
