Badgers Roll Past Lee Williams 73-49: PHS Sports Roundup

After the big win over Bradshaw Mountain, the Badgers took their show on the road handing Lee Williams a 73-49 setback in Kingman. Jake Hilton and Uriah Tenette each scored 18, and Zane Gaul added 10.

The Badgers pulled out to a small lead in the first quarter led by another strong start by Hilton with seven points and Andrew Lyon with a pair of buckets to lead 17-13. Tenette and Cooper Magnett each scored eight points in the second quarter as Prescott took control of the game, building a 42-23 halftime lead.

Hilton led all scorers in the third with nine points in an evenly played quarter. Prescott added to their lead in the fourth, as Tenette was perfect from the foul line, for their seventeenth win of the season. Lee Williams fell to (1-7) in the GCR, and (11-11) overall was led by Jon Leon and Devin Christian with 12 points each.

The Badgers win keeps them tied at the top of the Grand Canyon Region with Bradshaw Mountain. The Bears opened up a 19-1 first quarter lead, ultimately falling behind by two late in the fourth quarter, before pulling it out. Flagstaff will come to play in the Badger Dome on Monday at 7pm. Bradshaw Mountain will host Coconino.

Varsity Girls Basketball

The Lady Badgers dropped a 53-37 contest to the visiting Lee Williams Volunteers. The Volunteers (6-3) in the GCR and (20-5) overall, were led by freshman Addison Prisciandaro with 17 points. Senior Victoria Gravell added 14. Four of Gravell’s shots were three point baskets.

Prescott (2-8) in the GCR, and (7-14) overall, will travel on Monday to face the top team in the Grand Canyon Region, the Flagstaff Eagles at 5:30pm.
