Registration Opens for Sharlot Hall Museum Volunteer Training

Registration is now open for the Sharlot Hall Museum’s 2023 volunteer training program, which will begin Thursday, February 9.

The program, which spans six months, introduces new volunteers to the history and culture of Arizona’s Central Highlands—a geographical area stretching across Northern Arizona that encompasses Yavapai County and acts as the Sharlot Hall Museum’s mission area.

Volunteers will discover the ancient history and cultures of the Prescott area, follow the journeys of early ranchers and miners, watch the birth and development of the young settlements of Prescott and Fort Whipple, and see the local culture unfold to what it is today.

“The course is also a great refresher for seasoned volunteers,” said volunteer coordinator Dani Schulze. “Sometimes volunteers who have been with us for a while want to expand their volunteering skills or simply brush up on local history. It’s nice to see the new and experienced course participants connect with each other.”

Registration is required to participate in the program, which begins Thursday, February 9. For more information, contact Dani Schulze at (928) 277-2006 or dani.schulze@sharlothallmuseum.org.

The Sharlot Hall Museum, located two blocks west of Prescott’s Courthouse Plaza, is one of Arizona’s premier history museums. Its four-acre campus tells Arizona’s story through exhibits, gardens, and historic buildings, including the 1864 Territorial Governor’s Mansion. Events and programs include the annual Prescott Indian Art Market, Sharlot’s Cellar, monthly Living History Adventure days, and more.
