The Prescott Lady Badgers had their share of highs and lows in the Lady Badgers Basketball Classic, held at Prescott High School.

Prescott played a good opening round game, beating Apollo 58-50 in their first contest. A tough loss to Paradise Valley 59-41 followed in their second game of the day. The battle of day one was between the Sedona Red Rock Scorpions and McClintock Chargers. The two teams had only one loss each coming in, and it went down to the wire, as the 5A Chargers just got past the 2A Scorpions 46-45.

Day two started off exciting enough with a comeback overtime win over the Tucson Badgers. Prescott trailed by as many as 18 points before battling back to send the game to overtime. Prescott would go one to beat Tucson in a battle of the Badgers 48-43. Bella Abt led the Prescott Lady Badgers in scoring with 14. Having to play overtime did not help the Lady Badgers energy wise for the next game 90 minutes later.

The home team followed that up with a shellacking by an extremely good Sedona Red Rock team 74-26. Sedona used an onslaught of three point baskets to build a 28-4 lead after just the first quarter, cruising the remainder of the game to take home fifth place. The Badgers ended up with a sixth place finish, by going 2-2 in the two day tournament that saw sixteen schools from divisions 2A to 6A participate.

Prescott (5-8) will open up region play on Tuesday, when the Badgers host Mohave at 5:30 pm.
