Prescott area pitchers did very well for themselves at the Hall of Fame Tournament in North Phoenix. Pitchers from all over the state of Arizona participated in hopes of coming away with a big win. Three of our local players did just that.
Trisha Lincoln won the singles competition pitching a high game of 70% and posting a 5-1 record. Lincoln pitched over 50% in all of her games except for her only loss, which was given to her by Mike Massari, who had to settle for second. All of the six top pitchers in the tournament gave each other some very tough games.
Hal Handelman and John Lincoln won the Class B Championship, overcoming a loss, and ultimately beating the same pair who had beaten them earlier in the day in a playoff. Steve Harman and Cory Collins ended up with second place.
Cody Williams edged out George Gangi to take second place in Class D, with Emmett Jones earning first place.
Locally, both Prescott and Prescott Valley have horseshoe clubs with courts, and will host tournaments coming again in 2023. Prescott courts are located at Watson Lake and Prescott Valley’s courts are at the American Legion Park on Bob Drive.
