Honest Elections Project Action Reacts to Court Victory in Arizona – HEP Action

Friday, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled against Arizonans for Free and Fair Elections attempt to place a state version of HR1 on the ballot this November, affirming the lower court ruling that the group did not gather enough signatures for the initiative.

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“Exciting news coming out of Arizona with a significant victory for election integrity. Court rulings today have put an end to the massive liberal effort to weaken Arizona’s election laws. HEP Action is proud to work with Arizona Free Enterprise Club, Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (RITE), and others to defend Arizonans’ right to vote in a free and honest election. This ballot measure put that right in jeopardy by gutting commonsense safeguards like voter ID, lifting protections against non-citizen voting, and legalizing vote trafficking. It even raised taxes to fund politicians’ campaigns. Congress rejected these partisan policies with HR1.

“Left-wing special interests poured at least $7 million into this effort, a majority from out of state, in order to erase all the improvements Arizona has made to its election laws. Liberal activists worked hard to impose their unpopular agenda on Arizona but failed to follow the law and therefore failed to gather enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot. This a win for the rule of law and for all Arizonans who think it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.”

Polling conducted by Honest Elections Project Action shows that Arizonans support election laws such as voter ID (80%), citizen-only voting (87%), and safeguards against fraud (92%).

  1. This was a ruling by the Arizona Supreme Court. Can you imagine this case in New York state? Massachusetts? Connecticut? California? The corruption of our legal systems in several areas of our country are frightening. And of course Washington, District of Columbia is by far; the worst. Can you imagine a conservative Republican having a fair trial in Washington? You could not impanel a jury of your peers for sure. To keep Arizona free we must elect Republicans in all state offices. No more can we afford a one vote margin in the legislature.. Can you guess how much good legislation was lost due to RINO’s?
