Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover in Kirkland on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 1st on County Road 15 near mile marker 11. The driver, Judy Burges, 78 years old of Skull Valley, had swerved off the road and stuck a bush which appeared to be the cause of the rollover.
YCSO and an off-duty Border Patrol medic assisted in getting her out of the car. Judy was conscious and did not appear to be injured at the time. She was able to tell the deputies that she was returning from church in Yarnell on her way home to Skull Valley when the accident occurred.
As a precaution, she was transported by Lifeline ambulance to Yavapai Regional Medical Center, where it was confirmed she did not sustain serious injury.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by YCSO however there is no evidence driver impairment was a factor.
