A change can be good, and in regards to the weather it was just that, as the players enjoyed temperatures in the 70s along with a few sprinkles.

The competition was good all day, with many games coming down to the final frame to determine the winner.

Jay Mast took first place in the Class A despite dropping his final match with Patti Lopez-Cepero. Robert Chubinsky won second place, winning that spot by knocking off Mike Brewer in head to head competition.

Class B was won by John Barney, despite dropping his final game, with David Kleidosty picking up the close win. Hal Handelman took second on the tie breaker with Terry Sloan and Kleidosty.

Overall, it was a great day to be outside and hearing those shoes hitting those stakes.

Next up is a tournament in Prescott Valley on Saturday, August 7, at 9 am. Those courts are located by the fire station on Bob Drive in Prescott Valley.

Prescott will host the Mile Hi Memorial at the Watson Lake Courts on Saturday, August 14 at 9 am. The courts are just inside the gate and to the right.  Anyone interested in learning more can visit the Arizona State Horseshoe Pitchers website.
