Shots Fired Lead To Two Arrests

On Sunday, August 2, 2020 at approximately 8:00PM, Prescott Valley Police Officers were on patrol in the area of State Route 69 and Navajo Drive when they heard what sounded like shots fired in the area. A search of the area did not reveal anything suspicious at the time.

At approximately 10:00PM, the Prescott Valley Police Dispatch received an anonymous report of a vehicle in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn, 8383 East Highway 69, which had what appeared to be a bullet hole in the front windshield. When officers arrived, they contacted several witnesses who said they had observed two men who had been firing guns in the ravine behind the motel.  The two men were residents of the motel.

After further investigation, officers arrested 44-year-old Florida resident, Jarrod Adam Coger, and 34-year-old Ohio resident, Theodore Raymond Dante Goodright. Both Coger and Goodright were charged with three felonious counts: disorderly conduct with a weapon, discharging firearms within city limits, and criminal property damage. Coger was also charged with a felony count of possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.

The Prescott Valley Police Department continues to encourage citizens to report suspicious activities even if the calls are anonymous. “See Something – Say Something” is more than a slogan – it’s a lifestyle in keeping our community safe.
