The City of Prescott and their contractor, VSS International, Inc., are working on a chip seal project along selected roadways throughout the Prescott area. The project consists of cleaning the existing street surfaces and applying a new polymerized-rubberized chip seal and seal coat. Additional work includes the restoration of disturbed traffic striping and the replacement of manhole and water box concrete collars.
Once complete, these improvements will extend pavement life and improve the ride quality for Prescott motorists. This project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2020.
Crews will continue applying a new polymerized-rubberized chip seal and seal coat to the roadways highlighted in the map throughout the week.
Monday, July 27 through Saturday, August 1, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please be aware of temporary street closures, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. To notify businesses and residents of upcoming activities, barricades and signage will be placed along affected streets prior to work commencing. Once barricades are in place, access will be restricted for up to 4 hours while work is underway. In case of an emergency, please notify construction personnel and they will accommodate access. This work is highly weather dependent, and subject to change.
