Halloween DUI Task Force: Celebrate Safely and Drive Sober – Prescott Police Dept

The Prescott Police Department will participate in a Tri-City DUI Task Force detail on Halloween night, October 31, 2026. Officers will work alongside regional law enforcement partners to identify impaired drivers and help keep roadways safe throughout the Prescott Tri-City area.

As families head out for trick-or-treating and adults gather for Halloween celebrations, the Department reminds everyone to make safety part of their plans. If your celebration includes alcohol, designate a sober driver, use a taxi or rideshare service, or make arrangements to stay overnight.

Drivers should slow down, put away distractions, and watch carefully for children and families crossing streets, especially in neighborhoods. Be alert around parked vehicles, driveways, and intersections, where children may be difficult to see.

Parents and trick-or-treaters can help keep the evening safe by:

  • Using sidewalks and crossing at intersections or marked crosswalks.
  • Carrying flashlights or glow sticks and adding reflective material to costumes.
  • Choosing costumes that allow clear vision and easy movement.
  • Accompanying young children and reminding them to stop and look before crossing.

If you observe a suspected impaired driver, call 911. Be prepared to provide the vehicle’s location, direction of travel, and description.

The Prescott Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy Halloween responsibly. Plan ahead, watch for pedestrians, and help ensure everyone makes it home safely.
