Republican Rep. Massie introduced a resolution to impeach Hegseth over the Iran war.
A renegade Republican lawmaker is presenting the longshot resolution against the defense secretary on the floor of the House, potentially forcing a vote within days.
Rep. Thomas Massie, of Kentucky, said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth abused his powers by deploying the U.S. military in the war against Iran without seeking congressional approval under the War Powers Act.

Massie said these are “unlawful orders” and “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
While the House under control by Republicans is not expected to approve the resolution, it would put lawmakers on record over Hegseth’s leadership and the now seven-month war.
