YCSO and PANT Team up to Protect Children and Remove Meth and Fentanyl from a Home

On August 8, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop that raised concerns about possible drug activity and the safety of two children in the vehicle. PANT (Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking) detectives responded to assist, and while the situation resulted in a single charge at the time, the information gathered helped guide the response in the days that followed.

On August 11, PANT conducted a welfare check at a home on Ruth Street in Prescott. The team quickly identified unsafe conditions for children and confirmed ongoing illegal activity in the home. A search warrant was obtained, and multiple agencies worked together late into the night to secure the home. During the search, they found 14 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of powdered fentanyl, and 6 pounds of Marijuana. The three children in the home were immediately placed into DCS custody, and four adults were arrested on drug related and child endangerment charges. YCSO Animal Control also stepped in to safely handle several pets inside the home.

This case is a strong example of how effective collaboration between YCSO Patrol, PANT, SCU (Special Crimes Unit), Prescott Police Department, YCSO Animal Control, and DCS (Department of Child Safety) can directly improve community safety. Their joint efforts helped protect vulnerable children and remove harmful drugs from the streets, reflecting the commitment these teams bring to their work every day.
