As students prepare to head back to school, the City of Prescott has installed two new stop signs, creating a four-way stop at the intersection of Goodwin Street and McCormick Street.
This intersection serves as a primary student drop-off and pick-up location for Mile High Middle School, with daily traffic from parents, school buses, pedestrians, and motorists. The new four-way stop is an important safety enhancement that will help improve safety for everyone traveling through the area.
A permanent sidewalk is also planned and will be installed later this summer, providing an additional safety improvement for students and pedestrians.
As the new school year begins, please remember to:
- Come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
- Watch carefully for students crossing the street.
- Be alert for school buses loading and unloading passengers.
- Slow down and use extra caution during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times.
Thank you for helping keep our students, families, and community safe as we head into a new school year!
