On July 15, 2026, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two‑vehicle head‑on collision on Walker Road near Mile Marker 4.
Emergency crews arrived promptly and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. It is believed that a 17‑year‑old female driving a white pickup truck was traveling in the opposing lane when she struck a van driven by a 69-year-old male from Prescott.
The male driver was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The female driver is receiving medical treatment, and investigators continue to gather evidence and assess all factors involved. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Collision Unit has assumed responsibility for the ongoing investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this tragic incident.
