Olivia Butler is batting .463 this season.
Another three runs came across in the third when Zahn doubled in two more and James sliced a double past the first baseman and down the line for an 11-3 lead.
The Badgers closed it out in their final at bat in the fourth capped off with the Smolinkar two run homer. Mingus scratched out one final run and that was it.
Coach Randall Bryan said, “This team continues to impress me even though they are relatively young. We are hoping to close out the regular season on a four game win streak but will need to get past Mohave on Friday over there and then another road trip to the valley on Monday to play Westview. Hopefully we will stay high enough in the rankings to get that first playoff game at home.”
The Badgers will play at Mohave on Friday for the final Grand Canyon Region game of the season, then on Monday at Westview to close out the regular season. Mohave just beat up Westview 20-2. Both games start at 3:45pm.
