Yavapai Reentry Project Will Hold Two Community Events This March -Matforce

The Yavapai Reentry Project, a project of MATFORCE, announces two March events that offer chances for significant community impact.

Volunteer Opportunity: Community Coach for the Yavapai Reentry Project

The Yavapai Reentry Project is looking for dedicated community members to serve as volunteer Community Coaches for individuals transitioning back into the community after incarceration. As a Community Coach, you will provide crucial one-on-one guidance, emotional support, resources, and referrals through the Yavapai Reentry Project.

No prior experience, education, or specific qualifications are necessary; the only requirement is a genuine desire to help. Free training is provided.

This class is being held on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Yavapai Reentry Project office located at 8056 E. Valley Road, Suite B, Prescott Valley.  This training is open to residents of Yavapai County and registration is required. Virtual Learning Experience: From Inmate to Citizen

Are you interested in learning about the challenges faced by individuals returning to the community after incarceration, or do you have a loved one who is currently incarcerated?

Join this session to gain valuable insight and increase your awareness about:

  • The difficulties of transitioning from prison back into the community.

  • Understanding the differences in thinking and processing skills between incarcerated and non-incarcerated individuals.

  • Identifying the cultural differences between prison life and daily life.

  • Increasing awareness of generational trauma.

  • Keys to successful reintegration.

  • Effective communication strategies with returning individuals.

  • How the community can support successful homecomings.
