Serious Injury Collision Under Investigation in Chino Valley

At approximately 0230 hours on January 30, 2026, Chino Valley Police Officers responded to an
automated crash alert originating from a cellular device at the intersection of W. Center Street and Reed Road. Shortly after the alert was received, police dispatch also received a 911 call reporting an injury collision at the same location.

Upon arrival, officers located a black Dodge Ram 2500 on the roadway. A male subject, identified as the driver, was contacted at the scene. A female was found lying on the ground near the passenger side of the vehicle with serious injuries. The female was later identified as the driver’s fiancée.

Preliminary investigation revealed the male driver had been operating the vehicle in a reckless
manner by intentionally spinning the truck in the intersection, commonly referred to as “doing donuts.” During this activity, the female was seated on the passenger-side window ledge while recording on her cell phone. During the incident, the female was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining serious injuries after being struck by the truck and forcefully impacting the roadway.

The female victim was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. The male driver was arrested at the scene by Chino Valley Police Officers and was booked into jail for DUI 0.150 to 0.200, Reckless Driving, Endangerment per DV, and Aggravated Assault per DV.

This incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes
available.
