Frankie Avalon Brings Timeless Hits and Teen Idol Charm to the JLLPAC

The Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center invites audiences to step back into the golden era of American pop culture when teen idol legend Frankie Avalon takes the stage for one unforgettable night on Sunday, January 18 at 7 PM.

A defining voice of the 1950s and ’60s, Frankie Avalon rose to fame with chart-topping hits including “Venus,” “Why,” and “Just Ask Your Heart.” As a multi-platinum recording artist, Frankie has a long string of gold record, million-seller singles and albums. In 1959 alone Frankie had 6 solid hits that were in the top 40, and his music became one of the defining sounds of the “Pre-Beatles” Rock and Roll. His smooth vocals, boy-next-door charisma, and enduring appeal made him a household name – both on the radio and on the big screen.

In addition to his music career, Avalon also became known for his work as an actor. In the early 1960s, he starred in a string of successful beach party movies, often alongside actress Annette Funicello. These films, including Beach Party (1963), Muscle Beach Party (1964), and Bikini Beach (1964), were a key part of the teen movie craze that defined the decade.
This nostalgic concert experience celebrates the music, memories, and magic of rock ’n’ roll’s early years. Audiences can expect an evening filled with beloved songs, stories from a remarkable career, and the unmistakable charm that has made Frankie Avalon an enduring icon for generations.
Whether reliving cherished memories or discovering the soundtrack of an era for the first time, this special performance offers a joyful journey through one of the most influential periods in American music history – brought to life by one of its original stars.
