Phase 2 of the Downtown Prescott Bollard Installation Project to begin the Week of October 6

Starting Monday, October 6, the City of Prescott and their contractor, Combs Construction Company, will be returning to the downtown area to install the next set of removable bollards in downtown intersections. A bollard is a short, vertical post that is used to safely separate pedestrians from vehicles for parade routes and special events. Bollards will be installed in the following intersections:

  • The east and west sides of the Montezuma Street and Goodwin Street intersection
  • The east and west sides of the Cortez Street and Goodwin Street intersection
  • The south side of the Montezuma Street and Sheldon Street intersection

Intersections will be partially closed, 24 hours a day, for bollard installation from October 6 through November 3. These closures are necessary to allow crews to complete this work prior to the Veterans Day Parade. Goodwin Street, from Montezuma Street to Cortez Street, will be fully closed to all traffic to allow crews to perform this work. Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained along Montezuma Street and Cortez Street. Work in the Sheldon Street and Montezuma Street intersection will be performed in three phases to allow traffic to flow during bollard installation. Please note, this work will result in lane closures within the intersection throughout October.

Construction may occur Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Detour routes will be posted during these closure times. Please follow the marked signage to get to your destination. On-street parking restrictions will be in place during this work. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work to improve the safety of Downtown Prescott. Please note, this work is subject to change due to weather or other unexpected circumstances.
