The Chino Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is aware of and deeply concerned by the serious issues that have arisen following social media posts made by an off-duty District employee. While the employee’s posts were made using a personal device, their content has caused significant concern within the community.
The Governing Board, Administration, Teachers, and Staff of CVUSD want to be clear: we do not condone any acts of violence.
The district is and will remain committed to providing a safe environment for students to learn and for employees to work.
CVUSD has clear policies regarding employee use of social media, which carry strong consequences when violated. These policies state:
- “Employees are responsible for the content of their postings on any form of technology through any form of communication.”
- Employees “shall use technologies to enhance and add value to communications with all recipients and be respectful of those with whom they communicate.”
The CVUSD takes these standards seriously. After careful review of the situation, the Administration has made the difficult decision to recommend termination of the employee to the Governing Board.
Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and the greater Chino Valley community. We appreciate the continued support of parents, families, and community members as we work to maintain trust and uphold the values of our District.
