Arizona Philharmonic (AZ Phil) and the Highlands Center for Natural History welcome the change of seasons with a chamber music concert at the Highlands Center’s Kiwanis Amphitheater, 1375 Walker Rd, Prescott, on Saturday, September 13 at 6:30pm. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, this open-air concert features Arizona Philharmonic’s woodwind trio—Mary Simon (oboe), Mary Jackson (clarinet), and Chip King (bassoon), performing an eclectic program AZ Phil, Highlands Center for Natural History, of light classical, folk, and Americana works. This event is a prelude to AZ Phil’s Season 8 | USA 250—A Celebration of American Composers, beginning October 5 at the Ruth Street Theater.
Music Meets Nature
“No other venue in the region can offer this delightful setting—chamber music with a clarity and warmth shaped by forest and sky,” added Connor McKay, Operations Coordinator. This performance highlights a shared commitment to creating meaningful experiences where art and environment meet. “It’s rare to hear this kind of music outside without sacrificing sound quality. The acoustics at the Highlands Center amphitheater make it possible, and the setting adds a natural serenity no concert hall can match,” commented Henry Flurry, AZ Phil Artistic Director.
Tickets are $45, $40 for Highlands Center members and are available online at highlandscenter.org/arizona-philharmonic or call 928-776-9550.
