Chino Valley Police Department Hosts July 4th DUI Task Force Operation with Local Law Enforcement Agencies.

On July 4, 2025, the Chino Valley Police Department hosted a coordinated DUI enforcement operation as part of the larger Tri-City DUI Task Force effort, conducted in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The full initiative took place from July 3 through July 5, involving multiple agencies working together to reduce impaired driving over the holiday weekend.

Agencies participating in the Tri-City DUI Task Force included the Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety, and the Chino Valley Police Department. While Chino Valley served as host for the July 4 deployment, officers from all agencies were active throughout the three days, focusing on high-visibility traffic enforcement to detect and remove impaired driving.

Over the course of the three-day operation, officers conducted 148 traffic stops. These resulted in 35 civil speed citations, 3 criminal speed citations, and 66 citations for a variety of other violations. Officers also cited 1 reckless driver and 1 aggressive driver. Enforcement efforts led to 5 misdemeanor DUI arrests, 2 Extreme DUI arrests, 1 aggravated DUI arrest, and 4 arrests for driving under the influence of drugs. An additional 4 arrests were made for unrelated offenses.

The Chino Valley Police Department emphasizes that impaired driving endangers everyone on the road. As a reminder to the community, we encourage all drivers to plan ahead, drive sober, obey traffic laws, and make responsible choices to ensure everyone’s safety.

We thank the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for its ongoing support and for providing grant funding that enables these vital enforcement operations to take place throughout the Tri-City area.
