Prescott Regional Airport Invites Public Comment at Two Open Houses

Citizens are invited to two scheduled open house meetings on the proposed Shift of the Commercial Runway (3R-21L). The meetings will take place June 25 and 26, from 4-7 pm at the City of Prescott Centennial Center located on 1989 Wineglass Dr, Prescott Arizona. Airport staff invites citizens to learn more and share their feedback about this exciting new project.
The proposal is to shift Runway 3R/21L to the northeast by approximately 1,000 linear feet. This would relocate (shift) runway 3R/21L further east from highway SR89. The proposed shift would relocate the existing departure end of the runway (DER) by 780 linear feet. In turn this shift will enable commercial service operators to clear the One Engine Inoperable (OEI) splay without the current obstructions. The proposed shift would also allow aircraft to fly over the Deep Well Ranch and Pinon Oaks subdivisions at a higher altitude, providing safer operations and to help mitigate noise in these areas by potentially offering quieter operations.
