At the April 8, 2025 Voting Meeting, Prescott City Council voted to approve a proposed timeline from the City Clerk’s Office for the acceptance of applications to fill the vacancy of Councilmember Cathey Rusing through November 2027. The application filing deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Applicants must have been a registered voter in the City of Prescott for at least three (3) years prior to appointment. Applications will be reviewed in an Executive Session Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at which time Council will select the candidates to be interviewed at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. It is the intent of the City Council to select the appointee and swear them at the conclusion of the Tuesday, May 20 Meeting so they may begin serving as a member of Council at the meetings on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
