The Prescott Badgers returned home and got a solid performance by Adrian Sanderford who gave up just two hits while striking out eight in a 10-1 win over the Lee Williams Volunteers.
The Badgers grabbed a 3-0 lead in the third inning when they took advantage of some sloppy play by the Volunteers. Jacob Patterson and Ivan Shuster both walked and moved to second and third on an errant throw from the catcher that went into centerfield scoring Patterson. Nick Martin singled in Shuster. Luke Tobin singled to put runners at the corners. Cooper Magnett picked up an RBI on a fielders choice to second base that scored Martin.
Prescott added a run in the fourth when Colton Champion laid down a perfect bunt. The throw to first came late and wide going down the first base line as Champion went to third base. An out later, a sacrifice fly by Patterson made it 4-0.

The lead grew to 8-0 in the fifth when Sanderford came up with a two RBI single to left. Matt Hepperle came in to run for Sanderford and scored on an error. Champion, who reached on an error, would score as well on a wild pitch.
Lee Williams was able to get an unearned run thanks to the Badger lone error when Drew Doughty singled in Cain Massey to make it 8-1.
The Badgers added two in the sixth when Martin singled and scored on a triple over the centerfielders head by Tobin. Sanderford picked up a sacrifice fly to center for the tenth run.
Tobin said in regards to the triple, “I really got a hold of that one. My at bats today weren’t the best. I kept getting down two strikes, but I saw this last really well. It felt good.”
Hepperle came into pitch and closed things out in the top of the seventh.
Sanderford said, “I felt real good out there today. I was able to get ahead in the counts and the guys behind me played well. We continue to hit the ball and score which makes things a lot better on the mound.”
The two teams play again on Thursday at 3:45 pm in Kingman. Prescott improved to (9-4) overall, and (5-1) in the Grand Canyon Region, and moved up to #7 in the 4A Division rankings this week.
