Since the assassination of President Kennedy, the Democrat party has been at war with our country. It appears that most of their policies, both foreign and domestic, are aimed at making our country poorer at home and weaker abroad. These leftists have attacked our culture and our military. They have passed laws through Congress which have aided our enemies and weakened our position in the world. They have done enormous damage to our economy. The question needs to be asked: have the Democrats done this intentionally or are they just incapable of doing what is right?
One of the worst things the Democrats did to our country was to enact President Johnson’s War on Poverty. The effect of this legislation was to erode the nuclear family in many lower income areas. It essentially kicked fathers out of the house and replaced them with government welfare.
Johnson also expanded the war in Vietnam, even as he and his Secretary of State, Robert McNamara knew we could not win that war. Their apparent best case scenario was to fight the war to a stalemate.
After Richard Nixon replaced Johnson, his policy was to withdraw American and allied troops. Our country would aid the South Vietnamese in fighting against the Vietcong and the North Vietnamese while negotiating for peace. The Democrat Congress refused to grant President Nixon’s request for a one billion dollar aid in military, humanitarian and economic aid to South Vietnam. This virtually guaranteed a North Vietnam victory when they violated the Paris Peace Accords.
For some unknown reason, President Carter gave the Panama Canal to Panama. We had agreements with Panama but Carter just gave it to them. Since this is the fastest and shortest distance for our Navy and merchant ships to go from the east coast of our country to the west coast, this was not only economically and strategically counter productive, it is currently enabling the communist Chinese government to attempt to gain control of both sides of the canal.
When Ronald Reagan became President, Sandinista communists took over the government of Nicaragua and were attempting to spread their influence by aiding leftist rebels in El Salvador. The big scandal in the Reagan Administration was the Iran-Contra Affair. This was a situation where our government traded military hardware to Iran for money to give to the Contras who were rebelling against the Sandinista regime in Nicaragua. This was only illegal because the Democrat congress passed the Boland Amendment that forbade direct or indirect military aid to the Contras. One has to wonder why the Democrats would want communist Sandinistas to retain power and spread influence in Latin America.
Not that the Republicans don’t have policies and wars which are not in our best interest, or cause us the loss of our military personnel and our treasure. Republicans started the war in Iraq that was not in the best interest of the US. They extended war in Afghanistan, but then Democrats continued those wars when they held the executive branch. After that, you have President Biden’s ill advised and tragic withdrawal from Afghanistan that left 13 dead American soldiers. It stranded thousands of Afghanis who aided us there. Then, the people who controlled Biden, left hundreds of millions of dollars worth of military hardware, ammo, weapons and vehicles in the hands of the Taliban.
When Obama was President, his administration “negotiated” the Iran nuclear treaty that gave that American hating country billions of dollars and which virtually enabled them to get nuclear weapons. When President Trump took office in 2017, he negated that treaty. When Joe Biden somehow got elected four years later, his handlers got him to renegotiate that asinine treaty and gave that hostile regime more money. That money enabled the Iranians to finance terror all over the globe. Americans and many of our allies in the Middle East and Europe were killed as a result.
Do not all of these acts, policies and positions of the Democrats over the last six decades look like they are at war with America? Doesn’t it look like a political party that does those things, hates their own country?
