Plan for overnight full closures, lane restrictions and ramp closures on Interstate 17 this week as work continues on the I-17 Improvement Project.
Drivers traveling along southbound I-17 during the overnight hours should plan for full closures of I-17 at Bumble Bee Road (milepost 248) for work to take down the old Bumble Bee bridge over southbound I-17.
Northbound Lane Restrictions

- Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) south of Black Canyon City (mileposts 239-240) from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, for a traffic shift.
- Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) near Coldwater Road (mileposts 243-245) nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, Feb. 10, and ending the morning of Thursday, Feb. 13, for electrical work.
- Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) near Coldwater Road (mileposts 243-245) from 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, for electrical work.
- The exit and entrance ramps connecting northbound I-17 to Bumble Bee Road (milepost 248) will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, Feb. 10, and ending the morning of Thursday, Feb. 13.
- To access northbound I-17 from the community of Bumble Bee, traffic will enter southbound I-17 at Bumble Bee Road, exit at Coldwater Road (exit 244), then re-enter northbound I-17.
- To access the community of Bumble Bee from northbound I-17, traffic will exit at Sunset Point (exit 252), then re-enter southbound I-17 and exit at Bumble Bee Road.
Southbound Full Closures and Lane Restrictions
- Southbound I-17 will be closed at Bumble Bee Road (exit 248) nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, Feb. 10, and ending the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 12, for bridge work. During these closures, southbound traffic will travel along a bypass detour by using the Bumble Bee Road exit ramp and rejoining southbound I-17 using the Bumble Bee Road entrance ramp.
- Southbound I-17 will be closed at Bumble Bee Road (exit 248) from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, for bridge work. During these closures, southbound traffic will travel along a bypass detour by using the Bumble Bee Road exit ramp and rejoining southbound I-17 using the Bumble Bee Road entrance ramp.
- Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) between Bumble Bee Road and Anthem Way (mileposts 248-229) nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, Feb. 10, and ending the morning of Thursday, Feb. 13, for bridge work, electrical work and traffic shifts.
- Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating right- and left-lane closures) between Sunset Point and Anthem Way (mileposts 253-229) from 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, for bridge work, electrical work and traffic shifts.
