This holiday season, Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center (MMYTC), in collaboration with the nonprofit Illuminating Humanity, is launching a special initiative to bring Christmas cheer to 107 girls, ages 12 to 17, who currently reside at the treatment center. The “Basket of Love” campaign seeks donations of gifts and funds to provide each girl with a personalized holiday basket, ensuring they experience the joy and warmth of the Christmas season.
Many of the girls at MMYTC face significant challenges, with limited family support and few opportunities to experience the traditions and celebrations that others may take for granted. This year, MMYTC and Illuminating Humanity are working together to fill this gap by offering a meaningful way for the community to give back and brighten the holidays for these deserving girls.
“We want to make sure every girl at MMYTC knows she is loved, valued, and cared for, especially during this holiday season,” said Andrew Denis, President of the Illuminating Humanity board. “The Basket of Love project is a way for our community to come together and provide these girls with not just gifts, but also a message of hope and support.”
How to Participate in the “Basket of Love” Campaign:
Community members and businesses are invited to contribute in several ways:
- Purchase Items Directly: A curated Amazon wish list is available where donors can purchase specific items for the girls, but you must put in the address to ship the items: Illuminating Humanity, 540 Robin Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305. https://a.co/aH9mkZ0
- Monetary Donations: Donations can be made via Zelle to Illuminating Humanity. A QR code and Zelle account information is provided for convenience. Once in Zelle, use the email address toni@seeflection.com for donations to the nonprofit account.
- Mail-in Donations: Checks can be mailed to Illuminating Humanity, 540 Robin Drive, Prescott, AZ 86303.
All donations will go directly toward creating personalized holiday baskets for each girl, ensuring they receive thoughtful, age-appropriate gifts that help make the season bright.
Deadline for Donations: To ensure baskets are prepared in time for Christmas, all donations must be received by December 13, 2024.
