The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) Board of Directors has announced the termination of Fire Chief Scott Freitag’s contract without cause.
In accordance with CAFMA policy and under the direction of the Board Chair, Assistant Chief of Operations John Feddema has been appointed as the Interim Fire Chief, effective immediately. With 24 years of service to the organization, Chief Feddema brings extensive experience in fire operations and leadership. He will oversee CAFMA’s continued commitment to providing high-quality fire and emergency medical services to the community.
CAFMA assures the public that this leadership change will not affect the organization’s ability to respond to emergencies and serve the community. The safety and well-being of community members remains the highest priority.
