The James Family Prescott YMCA is hosting the Y’s annual Healthy Kids Day® on Saturday, April 20 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 750 Whipple Street in Prescott. This free, annual event kicks off summer camp registration and features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families, and a healthy start to the summer season.
Sponsored nationally by Peanuts, Healthy Kids Day’s mission is to turn fun and play into lifelong memories. Summer camp registration will be open and staff will be present to answer questions about sports summer camps (flag football, basketball, volleyball, fencing, and soccer), gymnastics summer camp, and summer childcare day camp.
Featured activities will include music and a DJ, a magician, family games, physical activities, an obstacle course, food trucks and refreshments, and much more.
“It is so important for kids to stay active over the summer, both physically and mentally,” said Lesley Jenkins, Executive Director, James Family Prescott YMCA. “At the Y, we believe in providing resources for families to create healthy habits, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event that encourages families to take advantage of all the great summer activities the Y has to offer.”

About the Y
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the James Family Prescott YMCA strengthens the community through programs that emphasize youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y relies on membership and program fees, along with public and private contributions to operate programs and to fund expansion projects. As a member organization, the Y is open to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. An extensive scholarship program ensures access for kids and families who could not otherwise benefit from YMCA programs.
