After a season sweep of the Mingus Marauders, the Prescott Badgers ran into one of the top teams in Division 4A, fellow Grand Canyon Region foe, the Flagstaff Eagles. The Badgers dropped a hard fought battle 7-3 at Prescott High School.
Will Carpenter went six plus innings for the Eagles to pick up the win. Travis Gates started for Prescott, but only went two innings. Matt Hepperle pitched three innings in middle relief before Tristan McKown closed things out in the final two innings. Hepperle allowed just one run in his three innings of work.
Brendan Coates, Adrian Sanderford, and Colton Champion all had RBIs, while Luke Tobin was the only Badger with two hits.
Prescott will get another shot at the Eagles in Flagstaff this afternoon.

The day before the Badgers finished off Mingus 5-3 in Cottonwood. Josh Adler went six innings allowing just two earned runs while striking out five. Tristan McKown picked up the save in one inning of work.
Brendan Costes, Adrian Sanderford, and Josh Adler all had doubles.
Unlike the game last week in Prescott where the Badgers had to rally from six down in the seventh, Prescott led 4-0 before Mingus chipped away with single runs in each of the middle innings. The closest the Marauders would get was within two.
