On April 4th , 2024, at 9:23 A.M. Prescott Police officers responded to the intersection of Willow Creek Road and Dan Carroll Drive upon the report of an injury collision involving a motorcyclist.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a 2006 Ford Expedition, being driven by a 55-year-old Flagstaff woman, had been travelling north on Willow Creek Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Dan Carroll Drive. As the Ford Expedition turned left, it failed to yield to a motorcyclist, operating a 2004 Yamaha R6, travelling southbound through the intersection on Willow Creek Road.
The force of the collision was significant. The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old Colorado man, sustained severe injuries and was treated on scene by EMS personnel prior to being transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Tragically the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
Southbound traffic on Willow Creek Road was restricted for several hours while officers from the Traffic Safety Section processed the scene.
