You’re Invited: Back to the Moon & On to Mars

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will host its College of Engineering C called “Back to the Moon & On to Mars,” 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Prescott Campus Davis Learning Center. Please join us for a night of fun and learning.

It is now over 50 years since humans last walked on the Moon. It is over 47 years since the first robotic landing on Mars, yet no humans have visited the red planet. Dr. Richard Holdaway, Chairman of Stratospheric Platforms Ltd. Based in Cambridge, UK, believes that is about to change.

“The journey to Mars is going to be highly competitive, and it won’t be friendly,” said Dr. Holdaway, whose event will explore who is planning to go to Mars; why they are going; when they will go; and what problems they will face.

Embry-Riddle’s College of Engineering invites everyone from the community to join them for this free presentation discussing the new space race.

Dr. Richard Holdaway has 50 years of experience working in multi-national space programs, having worked on numerous missions in space science and Earth observation with NASA, ESA, Russia, Japan, EU and others. He was appointed Director of the UK National Space Lab “RAL Space” near Oxford, UK, in 1998 and today lives half the year in Prescott.

For more information or to RSVP, please contact Karyn Casner, event coordinator, at (928) 777-3844, or by email at casnerk@erau.edu.
