Three Vehicle Collision Impedes Morning Commute in Chino Valley

On Wednesday, January 31 at approximately 7:21 am Chino Valley officers responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of S.R. 89 and Road 2 South.

Through investigation officers determined a white 1997 Chevrolet pickup, being driven by a 21-year-old from Prescott Valley, AZ, attempted to turn West onto Road 2 South during a yellow light. A silver 2008 Toyota Sienna van, being driven by a 17-year-old from Chino Valley, AZ, proceeded southbound through the intersection during the yellow light and was struck by the Chevrolet pickup. The Chevrolet pickup spun and struck a grey 1999 Toyota Camry passenger car, being driven by a 16-year-old from Chino Valley, AZ, that was stopped for the redlight on W. Road 2 South.

All involved drivers were treated by medical on-scene and reported minor or no-injury.

Two of the three involved vehicles sustained substantial damage and were towed from the scene. The third vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
