Sharlot Hall Museum Presents Encore Downwinders Lecture and Workshop, Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024

Our next Lecture Series is an encore which features information about radiation exposure and long-term “downwind” effects on Yavapai County residents from nuclear testing in Nevada 70 years ago. For those who missed this before, this upcoming lecture series may be the last chance to apply for compensation.

Testing from 1951 to 1962, or work in the uranium mining industry 1942 to 1971, caused cancers in some as a result of radiation exposure. “Downwinders” diagnosed with specific cancers and chronic diseases may be eligible to receive compensation of $50,000-$100,000 from the federal government if they qualify. Learn about your rights and how to file a claim. Unless the RECA Act is extended again, June 10, 2024 will be the last day to submit a claim.

Candice Lewis is the presenter, and tickets are free to both members and non-members. The link to register (as seating is limited) is HERE
