MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization with a focus on stopping youth drug use before it starts, is offering virtual and in-person Parenting the Love and Logic Way classes to help foster and strengthen relationships between children and their caregivers within the community.
The Love and Logic approach to parenting is built on the idea that an authentic, loving connection between parents and their children forms the foundation of good behavior and healthy decision-making.
Over the course of the class, facilitators will discuss the challenges parents and caregivers face with their children on a daily basis. They will teach strategies on how to discipline kids without losing their love and respect, help children develop personal responsibility and good decision-making skills, nurture long-term relationships and reinforce good behavior.
The virtual class is on Tuesdays, January 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27, and March 5, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This class will not be recorded. Participants must register for free to receive the meeting link.
Partnering with Beaver Creek School, the in-person class is on Wednesdays, January 31, February 7, 14, 21, 28, and March 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This class will be held at Beaver Creek School located at 4810 E. Beaver Creek Rd, Rimrock.
